CIMIC Group companies Sedgman and CPB Contractors were contracted by Pembroke Resources for the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of the coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) at the Olive Downs coking coal project in central Queensland.

Whittens delivered the Olive Downs CHPP concrete works, which included the installation of concrete footings and slabs for processing plant structures.

Geographically, the physical works were divided into the following five areas:

1. Raw Coal and Rejects Handling Areas (excluding Reinforced Earth Wall)
2. Coal Processing Plant (CPP Module) & Tailings Corridor
3. Office, Amenities and Car Park
4. Product Stockpiling, Reclaiming and Train Loadout
5. Services – All Work Areas
