As part of the Carmichael Coal Mine CHPP (Coal Handling Processing Plant) located in Queensland, inland from Mackay, Whittens is performed civil installation works involving 4,000m3 of in-situ concrete works.

The scope of work for the Seperable Portion 1 works included:

• RFP concrete work for several structures in the Carmichael Coal Mine
• Related detailed earthworks including trenching
• Supply and installation of pipework and cables
• Installation of earthing system.

Following the award of the first package, Whittens were subsequently awarded Separable Portion 3 of the project, which included installation of an additional 5,000m3 insitu concrete, 200,000m3 of earthworks, and buried services construction.
