Whittens Launch Entry Level Female Operator Program
Whittens is proud to enhance our support for diversity and inclusion in our workforce commitments by introducing a new initiative aimed at inspiring entry-level female operators in the civil construction industry.
Our recently launched Entry Level Female Operator Program has been carefully crafted to foster and assist female talent entering the Civil Construction Industry as Plant Operators. The program endeavors to offer a pathway for women to enter the industry and cultivate a successful career with us at Whittens.
Eligible individuals for this program will be females who possess minimal to no prior experience in Civil Construction and do not currently hold any operating tickets.
Through this program, employees will be introduced to the Civil Construction Industry with the support and guidance of both a mentor and a female buddy onsite. They will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the day-to-day operations of Whittens’ earthworks project sites and gain knowledge about the various machinery used.
This program spans a 12-month period, during which the employee will commence work as a General Labourer and/or Trades Assistant while obtaining their Operating Tickets (RII’s) and gaining experience with various machinery, enabling them to advance into an operating role. Upon completion of the 12-month program, opportunities for further training, including additional RII’s or High-Risk Work Licence activities may be available.
If you are a female with little to no prior experience in Civil Construction and are eager to kickstart your career in this field, we encourage you to apply today!
