The Project is located on Groote Eylandt, the largest island in the Gulf of Carpentaria in northeastern Australia.
Whittens has been awarded the civil component of the project which comprises demolition of existing concrete structures, bulk earthworks and structural concrete.
A concrete batch plant will be established on the island and given the remote location of the project, all materials, plant and equipment to be transported to the island from Darwin by barge.
