Whittens has been awarded its sixth major contract for 2017, with RCR Tomlinson Ltd (ASX: RCR) on the Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum Mine.

 

Whittens’ scope of work involves concrete construction of Primary / Secondary Crushing, Tertiary Crushing (Wet Screening), Wet Processing, Spodumene Concentration Dressing and Processing Plant Services. 

 

The contract is valued circa $10m, includes the installation of 5,800 cubic metres of concrete, and will see Whittens delivering the works from September 2017 through to January 2018.

Pilbara Minerals’ 100%-owned Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum Project, located 120km from Port Hedland in Western Australia’s resource-rich Pilbara region, is one of the biggest new lithium ore (spodumene) deposits in the world, with a globally significant hard rock spodumene resource.
